Caio Amon is a composer and audiovisual director whose work focuses on the dialogue between image, music, and sound. He specializes in projects involving cinema, visual arts, theater, and dance. Leading the production company EROICA_conteúdo, he directs the creation of videos, graphic art, and digital content for artists and cultural organizations.

 

Among his award-winning works are music videos (Passacaille, PamPiano, Blue Echoes, Crenças, Seu Jeito, Prélude romantique), documentaries (Imagine Utopia, Made in Brazil, Decupagem – Iole de Freitas, Manuscritos de Buenos Aires, Gesto Invisível – Mauro Fuke, Dito e Feito – Nuno Ramos), dance videos (Rose, Cigány, Piano-Soleil, Beej), and content for major festivals and cultural institutions, including an extensive video series for the Bach Society Brazil.

 

He has composed music for albums (Blue Echos), theater and dance productions (Imobilhados, 2068, Cross Cap), as well as for feature and short films, including A Nuvem Rosa (The Pink Cloud), Antes do Azul, Nau, Despedida, Música para Quando as Luzes se Apagam, and Vento.

 

He has collaborated with institutions such as the Nieuw Ensemble and Atlas Ensemble in Amsterdam, the Mercosul Biennial of Visual Arts, Instituto Ling, Porto Alegre Em Cena Festival, Iberê Camargo Foundation, and Holland Opera. His projects have involved collaborations with artists from Brazil and abroad, such as Marc Bourdeau (Canada), Geoff Emerick (USA), Olinda Allessandrini, Nuno Ramos, Mauro Fuke, Fernando Cordella, Duo Siqueira-Lima, João Bosco, Ricard Kanji, Thiago Colombo, among others.

 

Awards and nominations include m-v-f Brazil, Sundance Festival, Gramado International Film Festival, Açorianos Theater Award, KinoBeat, Cine Esquema Novo, Audience Awards, and the Experimental, Dance & Film Festival.

 

Currently pursuing a master's degree in Composition at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, he holds a degree in Composition from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Netherlands), a degree in Sound Engineering from the Musicians Institute (Los Angeles-USA), and a degree in Philosophy from PUCRS.

He pursued formal education in composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where the study of contemporary techniques and non-Western instruments met his practice of Brazilian popular music, resulting in collaborations with the Atlas Ensemble and Nieuw Ensemble.
